What a month! As most of you will know – and for those who don’t – we have just come away from a very successful Crane Association Conference.
Held in sunny Blenheim, we had more than 200 delegates attend with approximately 29 first-time attendees. We’ve received some positive feedback about the event. But we’d like to firm that up, so we’ll seek your thoughts in order to better tailor following year’s conferences to your wishes. More than 200 delegates attended one of the Crane Association of New Zealand’s (CANZ) most successful annual conferences to date.
Held at the Marlborough Convention Centre in Blenheim, it was the perfect location to celebrate the productive commitment of the industry. People throughout the country, including delegates from Australia and as far away as Japan, descended on the CANZ Conference – titled Keeping the Balance – from July 17-19. New Zealand’s industry is flooded with an abundance of committed and talented operators, many of whom attended the recent Crane Association’s annual conference in Blenheim.

However, Crane Association of New Zealand Immediate Past President, Scott McLeod, says industry players have come on leaps and bounds to mitigate risks, control hazards, and enforce the three ‘C’s’; Consult, Cooperate and Coordinate. Exclusion zones are but one of a crane business’ premiere tools in creating a safe work environment, he says. “It puts a highly visible line in the sand and ensures someone who wants to cross that will talk to whoever drew that line, to figure out a problem and consult, cooperate, and coordinate.
