Gazette notice

The Gazette Notice approving the Code of Practice for Cranes was signed by the Hon Minister of Labour on 20 November 2000 and the Code came into force on 19 December 2000.[more]

Codes of Practice - mandatory or not?

The "Summary of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992" at the beginning of Codes of Practice states that "Compliance with codes of practice is not mandatory. However, they may be used as evidence of good practice in court." [more]
