Membership fees breakdown

Application Fee: $99 + GST
All members pay the application fee once when initially applying. 

Base rate: $845 + GST
All members Group A-C pay the base rate for each year's annual subscription invoice. Group D are charged 30% of the base rate.

Tonnage
Tonnage is a fee charged per tonne of lifting capacity for all cranes above 3 tonne capacity. This is calculated using the fleet list provided for our database, at the time of application, and updated regularly by each member. Each member is responsible for keeping this up to date. Fleet lists can be kept private or made public (beneficial for those seeking certain crane types they wish to hire).

Tonnage rates are currently $2.00 per tonne capped at 3000 tonnes.

Lobby fund
CANZ holds a fund of $60,000 per annum, to be used specifically for the purpose of lobbying activity. This is usually spent on consultants and related costs for lobbying on a particular issue, such as NZTA for roading or a particular government department for relevant legislation change for our industry.

Whatever is spent, is recovered from across the membership at the end of each year. (Simply the amount spent x the number of members.) Members do not pay the lobby fund recovery fee during their first year of membership.

Group D membership fee
The members in Group D are either transport companies (HIABS only) or companies enabled by cranes such as utilities companies. 
 
Subscriptions for new members are charged at a pro-rata rate until our next round of subscriptions in October.

IMPORTANT: Your application will not be processed until payment of the Application fee is made, details for payment are provided once you've submitted your application. You will be invoiced for your subscription after the Application has been processed and approved by the CANZ Council.
