About the Crane Association

Structure

The annual conference is the governing body of the Crane Association. Members attending each conference elect a Council to control the Association's affairs and activities.

The Council consists of seven Full Members (elected by Full Members or the authorised representatives of Full Member firms) and two Associate Members (elected from within their ranks). The Immediate Past President is an automatic Council appointment. The full Council comprises: The annual conference is the governing body of the Crane Association.   • President
  • Vice President
  • Immediate Past President
  • Five Councillors
  • Two Associate representatives.

A Chief Executive, appointed by the Council, manages the affairs of the Association.

The Association has strong and cordial links with key statutory and other bodies.

  • Land Transport Safety Authority - road safety
  • Ministry of Transport - transport policy
  • NZ Qualifications Authority - recognition of industry qualifications
  • NZ Police - law enforcement
  • Transit New Zealand - state highway management
  • NZ Heavy Haulage Association
  • NZ Contractors Federation

International relationships include:

  • Crane Industry Council of Australia
  • Specialised Carriers & Rigging Association (USA)
